Lauren was born into horses as her father Charles “Champ” Hough was a successful eventing rider winning team Bronze at the 1952 Olympics. Her mother too was a rider starting in the hunter and jumper classes. Lauren participated in the 2000 Olympic Games (only aged 23!) as well as in the 2010 WEG in Lexington. One of her biggest achievements so far has been winning the team gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games. Lauren is a real warrior: in 2011 she had a very bad fall during a class in Stuttgart and suffered from a collapsed lung, fractured ribs, a separated shoulder and her vision ability was affected. But two months later, she was back in the ring!
