Charitable giving is of great importance to the organizers of the Longines Hong Kong Masters, who have carefully selected a charity that strives to fight hunger in the city: Feeding Hong Kong.
One fifth of the Hong Kong population lives in poverty and 25% of the local children eat less than three daily meals, while over 3200 tons of food are sent to landfill everyday. Feeding Hong Kong strives to combat these alarming issues by collecting surpluses donated by retailers and manufacturers and redistributing them to 25 welfare organizations and food banks. These organizations feed thousands of people thus bridging the gap between hunger and food waste. Inspired by the work of Feeding Hong Kong, the Longines Hong Kong Masters has decided to cooperate in raising awareness to this wistful situation.
A joint communication before the event and the various activities on site will inspire guests to raise funds for this honourable cause. A donation of the event’s leftovers together with a part of the revenue on the VIP Table sales will be offered to Feeding Hong Kong.
